What says the law about working parents?
The Cambodian labor law does not provide special treatment or benefits for working parents. All employees with family responsibilities (regardless of gender) shall have the same opportunities asemployees who do not have the same responsibilities.
There are no ‘family responsibility leave’ specified in the law. However, all workers are entitled to annual leave and special leave (total of 18 days per year), which they may use for family purposes.
In the event of mass layoffs, the law does have a provision that protects married workers and those with dependent children. The law says that employers should lay-off married workers, especially those with children last.
What is said in collective agreements about working parents?
Current collective agreements do not say anything about working parents.
