What does the law say about gender pay gap?
The Labour Law states that all workers are equal and shall not be discriminated on the basis of sex, race and religion etc. Equal pay for work of equal value is the general rule. Wage differences on the basis of origin, sex, or age of an employee are prohibited. The law states that the wage must be at least equal to the guaranteed minimum wage; that is, it must ensure every worker of a decent standard of living compatible with human dignity. For work of equal conditions, professional skill and output, the wage shall be equal for all workers subject to this law, regardless of their origin, sex or age.
